About Us · आगरा की चाँदी

Born in Agra. Shaped by hand.

Agra's silversmiths have made payal for generations. We are one of those workshops, still making every piece the slow way.

Where it all began
Our story

A family workshop, since 1980.

Nathi Lal Suresh Chand

What began in 1980 as a single workbench in Agra is today a family-run manufacturer of hallmarked silver payal, chains, bracelets and men’s kada. We still make every piece the slow way — melted, drawn, linked and finished by hand — for families, showrooms and retailers.

Today we make hallmarked payal, chains, bracelets and men's kada for families and for showrooms across India — with the same hand-linking, and the same care for how each pair sounds.

How a payal is made

Four steps, one pair.

I

Melting & alloying

Silver is melted and alloyed to the hallmark ordered — 80% for RRPL80, 92.5% sterling for RC92.5, SC92.5 and KADA92.5 — then poured into bars.

II

Drawing the wire

Bars are rolled and drawn through dies into wire of exact thickness, so every link in a lot weighs the same.

III

Linking by hand

Karigars form each kadi, attach the jhalar and close every ghungroo by hand.

IV

Polish & finish

Pieces are cleaned, polished or oxidised, then weighed, matched into pairs and checked.
